One week home

One week today. Feels like a good moment to pause.

She's sleeping well and increasingly happy to settle on her own across the room, rather than needing to be touching one of us. Handling of any kind (paws, tail, all over) is completely fine with her; the only time she mouths at hands is when she's wound up and wanting to play, the same moments she goes for shoelaces and anything with a frilly edge. Not a handling issue, just an overexcited puppy wanting a game.

A week in, and the playpen has become a perfectly acceptable place to sleep.

She's started sitting on her own during meals, easily and repeatedly, without us asking for it. Not something we're chasing yet, but a nice sign of how quickly she picks things up. Her food is up to 190g a day now, and we can properly see her growing.

The plan from here: a short, gentle outing somewhere new, and, with a camera rolling so we can actually see how she copes, trying a minute or two of both of us out of the house together. Small, deliberate steps, not chasing a number.

Nose to the lens, one week in.

One week in, and it already feels like she's been here much longer than that.
